NEWEST SANCTUARY IN THE PRESBYTERY OF LAKE ERIE IS USED FOR WORSHIP!!
In January of 2008 the Harmonsburg Presbyterian Church suffered a devastating loss of their sanctuary through an extensive fire. On February 14, 2010, through the prayers and hard work of many people, the congregation entered the new sanctuary for worship. Thanks be to God! The new building – all on one level – provides spacious room in the sanctuary for worship. In addition there is a gracious entry area which fosters conversation and fellowship. The kitchen will provide for their meal preparation and there will be other space that can be used as needed in the coming years.
This congregation has a long and rich history at the north end of Conneaut Lake. They have shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ for more than 150 years. This new worship space will provide an opportunity to continue the proclamation of the gospel for the salvation of humankind. The Harmonsburg Church is most appreciative of the support of their sisters and brothers in neighboring churches and across this presbytery. Temporary Supply Pastor Sue Nageotte has served with them across 20 months and engaged with them in a multitude of conversations in moving forward in the ministry of the church. Presbytery Trustee Gary Popson has been instrumental in working their way through the thicket of insurance issues. A United Methodist Church in Saegertown provided the stained glass window that graces the front of their sanctuary. Numerous Presbyterian Churches have provided gifts of money as well as physical items.
As a new sanctuary is used for the glory of God you are encouraged to offer your prayers for their faithful ministry.

THE PRESBYTERY OF LAKE ERIE
Welcome to the website of the Presbytery of Lake Erie! These are exciting times in the life of the church. Come and join with one of the 60 congregations in this presbytery as they testify to the reconciling power of God in their lives! The Presbyterian Church seeks to be a community reconciled to God through Christ.
To be reconciled to God is to be sent into the world as his reconciling community. This community, the church universal, is entrusted with God’s message of reconciliation … Wherever the church exists, its members are both gathered in corporate life and dispersed in society for the sake of mission in the world.
-The Confession of 1967
Come and discover what God is up to in our midst – worshipping faithfully, serving and compassionately and living powerfully for God!
