Rev. David S. Oyler was called to serve as General Presbyter of the Presbytery of Lake Erie in August 2003. A graduate of Grove City College, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, he has served three congregations in his 24 years of ministry prior to his call as General Presbyter. It is his clear sense of call to be available as much as possible to assist congregations in fulfills their ministries. His wife, Becky, is a third grade teacher in the North East (PA) School District. They are the parents of four children – a daughter, Megan, who lives with her husband Nathan in Ben Avon, PA and works in accounting; David who teaches science at the South Carolina School for the Deaf; Stephen a recent graduate of Penn State University, the Behrend Campus; and Michael, a mechanical engineering student at the University of Pittsburgh.

Elder Doug Megill has been Stated Clerk since 2003. He is a member of the North Warren church. He is a physician, employed at Warren General Hospital as Chief of Clinical Operations. He lives in Warren with his wife, Laura. Doug and Laura have four children and two grandchildren. In 2010 he completed a term of service on the General Assembly Mission Council.
Elder Bill De Witt has served as Presbytery Treasurer since 1997, when he retired. A CPA, he has held financial management positions with Hammermill Paper Company and Gannon University. Earlier he was engaged in public accounting and as a Supply Corps officer in the U.S. Navy. Bill holds degrees from Lawrence University and the University of Wisconsin (Madison). Bill and his wife, Sally, have been married since 1967 and have lived in Erie since 1976. They have two children, Cathy who lives in West Newbury, MA; and Rick, who lives in Edinboro, PA.Email Bill DeWitt
Email Sheila Kelly
Sheila Kelly is the Administrative Assistant. She began working for the Presbytery of Lake Erie in 1984 when she was a mere child of 10 years of age . Her extreme intelligence led her to excel exceedingly fast through high school where she graduated from high school at 7 years of age. Sheila previously worked for the City of Erie, the Millcreek School District, Resources for Prevention (a drug and alcohol prevention program) and has done medical transcription for a Psychologist. She has three little furry "kids" who sleep at the foot of her bed every night. Sheila enjoys the people she meets and the challenges that she faces each day working for the Presbytery Office.
Bookkeeper
Kerry Balzer was hired as the part-time bookkeeper for the Presbytery on April 1, 2008. She is a graduate of the West Virginia Career Institute and has worked in the clerical field for thirteen years. She moved to Erie in 1995 after marrying her husband Frank. She and her husband have three school age children. Other than being very involved with the care of her children, she devotes time to helping with the children and youth activites at the New Apostolic Church.
