Bubble Up: Conversations to Carbonate Your Imagination
“I am about to do a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
Isaiah 43:19
Want the space to think more expansively? Want a deeper consciousness of God? Wonder what God might be up to with your neighbors, and why you don’t know that already? Do you long for ministry to sing to the souls of people as they walk through the world today? Do you wish your church might get over itself—its own hangups, hangovers, and habits—and dive into what your community is calling for? Do you ask yourself at night whether your congregation’s life might be moving toward completing its ministry? But a little afraid to say it out loud? Puzzled about what to do, pray, say, think? Are you finally done with whining, worrying, eyeore-ing and wringing hands? Want an excuse to step away from managing your church? Ready for something more adventurous than this?
Perhaps you’d like to explore these dynamics thoughtfully, prayerfully, and intentionally over the next 6-12 months with an eye toward bold, new faithfulness. Perhaps you’re willing to imagine ministry that looks different for the sake of reaching new people with Christ’s love. Perhaps you can envision faithfulness like you’ve never known it before.
Rev. Anita Bernhardt, General Presbyter of Lake Erie Presbytery, and Dr. Corey Schlosser-Hall, Deputy Executive Director of Vision, Innovation and Rebuilding with the Presbyterian Mission Agency, invite you to Bubble Up: Conversations to Carbonate Your Imagination. We will meet monthly for 90 minutes on Zoom to explore creative and innovative ministry for the modern Church. The goal is to give ourselves space to imagine what God might be doing, learn from leaders doing innovative ministries, and explore new possibilities. Once the group is formed, an in-person retreat is anticipated later in 2023. However, initially, all gatherings will take place online. Both Ruling Elders and Teaching Elders are welcome and encouraged to participate.
An introductory zoom meeting will occur on Tuesday, April 18 at 1:00 p.m. with an evening opportunity on Thursday, April 27 at 6:30 p.m. We invite you to attend only if curious!
