Rev. Greg Gillispie is Stated Clerk of Lake Erie Presbytery. In this role since April, 2015, he oversees official presbytery minutes and records; handles certain official communications; and serves as parliamentary adviser to the presbytery, its pastors and its local sessions. He serves part-time in this role.
Greg also is the transitional pastor with the people of First United Presbyterian Church in Edinboro. His ministry interests include preaching and teaching, discerning “next steps” toward God’s future, and leadership development and spiritual growth. He is grateful for the many opportunities he has had being present as someone discovers an “aha” moment drawing them closer to the Lord.
Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary awarded Greg his Master of Divinity degree in 1995. He since has led congregations at Wrightsville Beach and Charlotte in North Carolina, Richmond Hill and Savannah in Georgia and Oil City in Pennsylvania. He also has been a key leader for presbytery-level ministries of youth church camp, officer orientation days and coordinating councils. As a regional workshop leader, he teaches topics such as church vitality, cross-generational ministry, and how to discover best practices for future mission.
Greg is a native of Beatrice, Nebraska. His first career was 13 years as a radio broadcaster. Marcia, his wife of 18 years, is both a Registered Nurse and Clinical Social Worker. She is a charge nurse for the Behavioral Health Unit of UPMC Northwest Hospital in Seneca. They have two teenage sons who attend Venango High School.
