Additional Preaching Possibilities
The people listed above on the Pulpit Supply List are Ministers of Word and Sacrament or those who have completed the Commissioned Pastor classes. Below you will find a list of people who have completed the Preaching Seminar Class in 2018. They are willing to preach though they are not in the position to celebrate the sacraments. It is the hope of the Committee on Ministry that churches might utilize these people where the need exists. Each person on this list has appropriate background checks on file in the presbytery office.
When a person from this list preaches a member of Session (or other) may be asked to fill out a form about their preaching and return it to the presbytery office. After the Committee on Ministry receives several sermon evaluations they will have a conversation with the person to review and encourage their preaching. The Committee on Ministry requests that you pay these people on the ‘Preaching Seminar’ list $125 for preaching plus mileage. If you have questions about these potential preachers you would be encouraged to contact their home pastor for further information.
Give them a try in order to expand the pool of people who have some preaching experience. Their preaching can strengthen your church and give them a new experience. It may open doors to new options and opportunities!
